SolEol searches for subtitles for your movies by using a unique “electronic signature” (also called a “hash”) on your files (downloaded or otherwise) and searches OpenSubtitles’ massive database for matching results in your chosen language(s).
The application supports drag & drop, automated operation and includes a basic CLI for automations. It also allows users to upload their own subtitles, be them obtained elsewhere or made from scratch, to share them with the community and benefit people with similar needs.
Will eventually become non-free, once it’s feature complete.
Version 1.2.1.2.56:
- Drag & Drop bugs when uploading subs fixed
- Movies or Subs can be dropped over icon in home screen, dropped onto window’s top drop zone, selected individually with the “Choose…” button or whole folders selected by alt-clicking the “Choose…” button
- Folder or moviefiles dropped over main icon will trigger subtitle search
- Movie files should show SolEol as option to “Open With…” in OSX and Windows
- New preference for searching subtitles automatically after drop/selection.
- New preference for getting checked subtitles automatically after search.
- Automatic subtitle selection is now a bit better.
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
