Mercury Venus Transit Maestro is the most versatile and feature-rich application for Mercury and Venus transits. It can handle any solar transit over six millennium. To help you enjoy the event, it can control up to four USB or Firewire connected cameras (Nikon and Canon DSLRs, plus Nikon Coolpix line) and up to four USB or Ethernet connected SBIG CCD cameras with their filter wheels during a Mercury or Venus solar transit, so that you can be free to concentrate on observing the event visually. Actions can be preprogrammed according to a script. Observer position (latitude and longitude coordinates, altitude) is used to calculate local circumstances so that camera actions can be referenced to specific transit events. Atmospheric refraction and deltaT correction supported. Sun-Planet diagram, large event countdown display, transit color map with mouse-over geographic cursor coordinates and maximum transit diagram at the mouse-over location can also be displayed.

TestDisk download contains TWO programs – TestDisk and PhotoRec. They are used on the command line in the Terminal. As a result, these programs are designed for support personnel and experienced Mac users.

The TestDisk program is powerful free data recovery software! It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table).

It will also find accidentally deleted partitions (either Apple Partitions, the newer EFI partitions and Windows MBR Partitons) and provide the necessary information for you to restore them using the Apple pdisk command (for Apple Partitions) or the gpt command for (for EFI partitions)

PhotoRec is file data recovery software designed to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from Hard Disks and CDRom and lost pictures (thus, its ‘Photo Recovery’ name) from digital camera memory. PhotoRec ignores the filesystem and goes after the underlying data, so it will still work even if your media’s filesystem has been severely damaged or re-formatted.

PhotoRec can recover data from various filesystems including FAT, NTFS and HFS+.

Version 6.14:

Improvements:

  • Testdisk /list now displays the disk model, serial number, firmware version and hpa or dco presence if detected
  • Recover WBFS (Wii Backup File System) partition
  • Make FAT RebuildBS works when there is a single FAT table
  • Interface: Display the partition table type if autodetected
  • Interface: modified warning about mismatching geometry between FAT or NTFS boot sector and HD geometry information
  • Interface: Remove “Allow partial last cylinder” option

Bug fixes:

  • Fix crc in EFI backup GPT
  • Rewrote how TestDisk aligns partition on cylinder or 1MB boundary. It avoids to create partition entry where the partition ends after the end of the disk.
